1 pkg Schneiders® Hickory Smoked Classic Cut Bacon, cooked and roughly chopped

8 oz Cream cheese, room temperature

1 ½ cups Sour cream

½ cup Mayonnaise

2 cups Shredded cheese, a combination of sharp

Cheddar and mozzarella

½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

5 Scallions, thinly sliced

¼ cup Chives, thinly sliced

¼ cup Parsley, finely chopped

½ tsp Smoked paprika

Zest of 1 lemon (approx. 1/4 teaspoon)

1 Round of good quality sourdough bread

Olive oil

Preheat oven to 400 ºF

Cut the top of the bread and take out the insides leaving 1 inch of bread in the bread bowl. Brush the insides generously with olive and bake for ten minutes until lightly golden.

In a large bowl combine cream cheese, sour cream and mayo.

Stir in shredded cheese, ¼ cup of parmesan, scallions, chives, parsley, paprika, lemon zest and bacon.

Spoon filling into the bread bowl and top with remaining parmesan cheese.

Reduce heat to 375 ºF

Bake for 45 minutes until the dip is heated through, the cheese has melted and the top is golden brown.

Notes:
Pre baking the bread bowl keeps it from going soggy during the baking process. This is a very versatile appetizer. Try experimenting with your favourite cheeses.
