Smoked Sausage with Apple and Onion Brochettes

Our naturally smoked and exceptionally juicy sausages get the summer treatment paired with sweet char-grilled fruit and vegetables & a tangy homemade glaze. This recipe is a must-try flavour celebration, worthy of your precious summer days.

1 pkg Schneiders Smoked Stadium Size Sausages, cut into 1” rounds
 
½ red onion, top and bottom removed, quartered
 
½ honey crisp apple, core removed, sliced horizontally into ½” pieces
 
5 6” bamboo skewers
 
Glaze
 
4 T unsalted butter, melted
 
2 T chopped thyme
 
2 T honey
 
2 t Dijon mustard
 
1 clove garlic, finely grated Freshly ground pepper

Preheat grill to 400F.

In a small bowl, add melted butter, thyme, honey, mustard, and garlic. Add a pinch of freshly ground pepper. Whisk to combine.

Assemble the skewers starting with 1 piece of sausage, then 2 pieces of red onion, then 1 piece of apple. Continue until the skewer is full, ending with a piece of sausage.

Brush the skewers with the glaze.

Grill until everything is lightly caramelized, brushing with the glaze a couple of more times while on the grill.
