Vancouver-Style Hot Dog

Inspired by the famous Vancouver street food, we topped our classic Juicy Jumbos with Japanese-inspired ingredients like nori, sesame seeds and homemade terimayo. It’s a culture-blending hot dog with incredible taste that you just can’t put down ‘til it’s gone.

1 pkg Schneiders Juicy Jumbo hot dogs

6 good quality hot dog buns

1 sheet nori, cut into 1” strips and finely sliced

1 Tablespoon sesame seeds toasted

½ onion, finely diced

3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

1/3 cup kewpie mayo

3 teaspoons teriyaki sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Preheat grill to 350 F

In a small pan on low heat, add 2 Tablespoons of butter and the onion and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and translucent; reserve.

In a small bowl, combine mayo, teriyaki sauce and sesame oil. Whisk to combine; reserve.

Melt the remaining butter and brush tops and insides of the hot dog buns.

Grill hot dogs per package instructions. While hot dogs are cooking, grill buns until golden and lightly toasted, 1 to 2 minutes.

For assembly:

Place hot dog in the bun, add a spoonful of onion, then a generous drizzle of teriyaki mayo. Top with a sprinkle of nori and sesame seeds.
